Dialogue Writing Between Teacher and Student about Time Management
Student: Good morning! ma'am. Ma'am did you call me?
Teacher: Yes, come in. Rik, your marks in this term are very poor and also heard that you were late today for your 1st lecture, is that true?
Student: Yes ma'am, I was 20 minutes late for todays lecture. I'm sorry ma'am.
Teacher: Rik, this is your 3rd time, in a week. I need a reason. Why are you always late? What is the problem? At what time do you get up in the morning?
Student: Ma'am, I get up at 7.30. I come to school by city bus and my house is 5 km from school. At 8.30 I take a bus for school, so its hard for me to be in time for school.
Teacher: If that's the problem, then you should get up early at 7'o clock, so you wont get late.
Student: But ma'am, I sleep late after 12 or 12.30. How can I possibly wake up at 7 in the morning.
Teacher: Why do you sleep so late? Do you watch tv or play video games late at night?
Student: No ma'am! I play games and watch tv in the evening, but sometimes I forget about time and spend extra time in playing and also forget to complete the homework and other school activities, so I sleep late.
Teacher: If this is the reason, then you lack a lot in time management. Rik, you should learn how to manage your time and based on your time you should give priorities to important work first.
Student: Ma'am, can you please explain me how can I manage my time properly?
Teacher: Listen, Time is the most valuable thing in the world. If you waste your time now, the results will affect you in future.
Student: But ma'am, I never waste my time.
Teacher: But playing games for a long time, not studying on time, sleeping and getting up late are all the signs of waste of time or improper time management.
Student: Can you please help me with it? Can you explain me how can I manage my time properly?
Teacher: Listen, to manage your time properly, first you should make a timetable. You should learn to adjust your time for each and task of yours from morning till night.
Student: How can I adjust my time?
Teacher: Like, you can create a timetable like getting up at 7, getting ready and coming to school, after school resting for half hour then classes in the evening, then you can play games or watch tv for 1 hour or maybe 1 and half hour, having dinner at 8.30 and studying from 9 to 11. You can follow somewhat timetable like this. Making timetable will help you manage your time properly plus sleeping and waking up on time will keep your health in good condition.
Student: ok ma'am, from today onwards I will make and follow timetable and will learn how to manage my time properly. And I promise I wont be late to school from tomorrow and will also improve my grades in next term.
Teacher: Good. Now you can go.
Student: Thank you ma'am for your advice today.
Teacher: You can come to me anytime if you need my help.
