Their doings and sufferings, ideas and actions encourage a common man to follow in their footprints. They are our guardians, a beacon of hope in the dark tunnel, the guides of the erring humanity. The lives of Vidyasagar and Rabindranath, Robert Bruce and Mother Teresa, Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi and many others of their ilk inspire us to love life zealously, think positively and act accordingly. Despite repeated shocks and setbacks, they never wavered from the pursuit of their cherished goals. We profit by their experience. In fact, they take us out of the morass of mental depression and rejuvenate our spirit. Reading their biographies inspires us to follow their ideals in our life and work.
