Choice of a profession and career is of great importance for a person. O the right and timely choice of a career depends much success I life. On the other hand, a wrong decision can lead to frustration and confusion. Therefore, one should try to choose one’s career as wisely as possible. It should be timely, that is, it should be determine by the time one takes one’s first board examination.

The present age is the age of cut-throat competition. Life has become very complex. Things are moving fast. There is a great variety of careers and professions. It makes one feel confused and bewildered in choosing a right career. The lack of proper counseling and guidance worsens the situation further. The young students find themselves groping I the dark. As a result of all thee there is much unemployment and frustration. It also means that a lot of money, time and energy are wasted. Students should take the help of their elders, teachers and professionals in deciding their careers. They should choose Their carrers according to their aptitude and resources.

The first requirement for a young person is to find out what his aptitude and attitude are. Only being ambitious, impatient and eager to achiever good positions is not enough. A right attitude stands one in good stead. One should be realistic I outlook. Making castles in the air does n good. One may dream of becoming a super flm star and end up as a mere casual artist or a helper. Being over-ambitious leads to disillusionment and unhappiness.

In the present educational system, a student has to choose his stream after 10+. It is better to choose a stream keeping I view one’s aptitude than go for higher studies aimlessly. One should go for a vocational course or higher studies according to one’s aptitude and ambition. It will help one to realize his dream I the times to come.

There are a great many professions to choose from and there are a great many training institutions, polytechnics and person can do his job better and more skillfully. A trained carpenter can certainly make a better chair than an unskilled carpenter. This holds true for all professions and walks of life. One should have proper qualifications and aptitude for a career.

Financial resources are also a limiting factor to one’s dreams. At present, banks and other financial institutions give loans, but they have strict terms and conditions, so they cannot be made available to all people. Financial resources play a very important role in deciding to choose a profession. For lack of funds, one may have to choose a far humbler career.

Change of a career amidst the stream may prove risky. It is not wise to change careers now and then. Therefore, select your career carefully and wisely; once decided, stick to your decision. Use all your energy and resources to obtain your aim.

Once you have chosen your career, it is very difficult to retrace your steps. It you do so, you can be a great loser, as well as a great winner. If, after you have chosen a career, you find that your aptitude does not suit it well, a change in career can lead to better success, and it can be proved by many a example, such as those of Amitabh Bachchan, Shiv Nadar etc.

The time of choosing a profession is like standing at a cross-road. Once a choice is made, there is no escape. Therefore, be practical, logical and reasonable in choosing your profession. This is crucial choice. Take into consideration all aspects of your personality, qualification and resources and then set off towards your ambitious goal, and success will be yours.
