It was a day when we were to be given a farewell by the junior students. We gathered in the school compound. All teachers and students were there to receive us warmly. For the first time in my school life, I felt as if I was a guest in my own house. The farewell function started with the address of our Principal. In her short but impressive speech, she boosted up our confidence and wished us for our success in the forthcoming examinations and life. All the teachers wished us success in the examinations. Then we were called one by one on to the stage. The junior students offered each of us a packet of sweets and a flower stick.

As I walked towards the gate to go back home, I found it difficult to control my tears as it might be the last to have seen many of my school friends in life.
