700 Words Essay on Electricity and Its uses in Practical life

Introduction- The wonders performed by electricity are so many that it would take a much larger space than this to describe them all. In the last few years electricity has been used more and more throughout the country, Electricity makes our trams run smoothly along the road. It whirls the fans over heads while we sit in school, if our school is lucky enough to have electric fans, it furnishes light by which we can read our text books at night. When we are studying at home; it helps to make the ice which refreshes us during the intense heat, it lights the street at night and makes our cities safer than they would be otherwise. It drives printing presses and enables us to get up to date news every day. It works film projections and thus gives us much pleasure when we go to the cinema. what would life be like without the blessings of electricity?

Automatic machine- The different types of electrical appliances used in our daily lives include tube light, refrigerators, water heaters, room heaters, air conditioners, coolers, fans, geysers, CFL lamps, LED lights and so forth. There are innumerable appliances which help man to make his life better. All these gadgets are known to lessen our burden and make life easier. The hectic lifestyles of these days deplete our energy levels and thereby increase our dependence on these gadgets. Today millions of people all over the world depend on various kinds of electrical appliances.

Cinema & Radio- Every one of us is familiar with the cinema and the Radio. Television is another modern means of recreation. Life itself will not be worth living in the absence of such means of recreation. To increase our food production irrigation facilities have to be provided. Electricity is being used in the operation of tube wells in the villages. Now in big cities, electric furnaces are use to cremate dead bodies. Thus, in the journey of life from cradle to grave, we have to take helps at every step.

Trams, buses and electrical engine- We all know that trams and buses are run by coal and petrol respectively. They run quite fast. But now steam engines and diesel engines are being replaced by electric engines. In cities like Mumbai and Calcutta, long distances trains as well as local trains are being run by electric engines. Electrification of more and more railway tracks is being done. Thus their speed is increased greatly. The journey by such trains becomes smoke free. Trams are used in big cities for local services. They are also run by electricity thus in transport electricity is playing a major role.

Communication -We can speak on the telephone to our friends, living in the same town or a thousand miles away or even in South Africa, Australia, America, or England, without electricity this could not be done. Mobile phones are used for a variety of purposes, such as keeping in touch with family members, for conducting business, and in order to have access to a telephone in the event of an emergency. Some people carry more than one mobile phone for different purposes, such as for business and personal use. Thanks to electricity which has given us such a swift means of communication.

Conclusion- This is an industrial age. The use of big and heavy machines has increased production of goods manifold but such machine work economically only with the help of electricity. In some progressive countries like Japan electric power is used even in small scale and cottage industries. In our own country we find flour mills crushers, saw mills etc. functioning with electricity. The use of such small machines in our villages has helped in improving the condition of the villagers. Thus electric power is helping in the growth of industries. Thousands and thousands of newspapers, magazines and books are published daily. Everyone can today find a book to his choice and of suitable standard. The printing of such large number of books and periodicals has been made impossible by the invention of electric printing press. The electric power has not only brought light to our homes but to our heads also.
