An Ideal Student
Introduction -The future of a country depends on students and scholars. Student life is life of preparation. It is the training for practical duties of manhood. A student should be very careful. The first duty of an ideal student is to keep his body healthy and active. A sound mind lives in a sound body. For that he should take a keen interest in games and sports. He should also take physical exercise because games and sports build our health. They also help in the formation of character. Only a student who is physically fit can serve the country. An ideal student is never careless about his health and physical fitness.

An ideal student should be studious- An ideal student should devote a greater part of his time to his studies. He should play while he play and work while he works. An ideal student has a deep love of books and goes to the library for knowledge and wisdom. Such a student lives in the world of books. He reads not to accept or to reject but to weigh and consider. He worships truth and welcomes knowledge.

Should be a man of characters- An ideal student always tries to be a man of character. The end of all knowledge must be the building up of character. A good student, therefore, should try to form his moral character. Obedience to parents, respect for teachers and sympathy for the poor, love for all and ill-will towards none should be his chief moral ideals. He should be refined in taste, sweet in speech and polite in his attitude. He should know how to influence people and win friends. He must have a spirit of tolerance, discipline and decency. He should have a civic sense and self control. He must have sweetness of temper, patience, wisdom and courage.

Should have a sense of social service- An ideal student must have a sense of social service. He is a servant of humanity, a builder of society and a soldier of peace. He has no selfishness and narrowness. He spreads the light of education where there is no school of education. He protects the honor of women. In floods or famine, he raises funds and tries to feed the hungry.

Conclusion- In free India students are the hope of future. Students can help us in achieving social freedom. An ideal student thus develops in himself every intellectual and moral quality. He tries to strengthen himself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. He tries to become a good and useful citizen of the country. He must love his country and he should be ready to sacrifice everything for the good of the nation. Our country needs such an ideal student.
